Production

Otago Lumber's sawmill production capacity is currently 29,400 tonnes of log input, generating 16,000 cubic metres of sawn timber output per annum. Cutting a balanced diet of Pinus Radiata structural/pruned and Douglas Fir logs allows our business to supply a diverse range of timber products into the domestic, Australian, and Asian Markets.

 

Governance

Otago Lumber is governed by a small but diverse Board of Directors. Our four directors offer an impressive range of skills and experience that covers all aspects of the sawmilling and timber industry.

 

Staff

Our small team of dedicated staff offer the complete package of skills and knowledge that allows us to present quality products to our many customers around the world. Utilising the wealth of the timber industry training and advisory bodies ensures our staff maintain industry best practises.

 

Processing

On site processing facilities consist of high performance timber drying kilns, timber machining, stress grading equipment, cut to length saws and dry timber sorting. Preservation treatment of timber is contracted off site by a reputable processor.
Otago Lumber offers custom processing of softwood species where required.

Future Growth

In order to meet growing demand for solid wood products Otago Lumber continually investigates sawmilling improvement options. Planned upgrades of our current milling facility will allow us to meet these demands, along with, providing our staff with a much more advanced and less labour intensive operation.
